The chosen candidate(s) will have the opportunity to work into a full-time paid position and build a personal brand in sustainability, education and trending practices.  With the right time commitment, this role has the opportunity to network with some of the most prominent names in sustainability and technology businesses, as Beepods has built great rapport inside the community and outside to each of the coasts through our joint projects and endeavors from New York to Los Angeles.

Initially, this is a part-time role with the potential to move to a full-time position.  As long as the position helps to speed up the operations of Beepods, there will be plenty of opportunity to pick up extra hours and responsibilities. We expect that a full-time occupation could be possible in 2 to 3 months time of filling this role, but if the right candidate comes along, we would be willing to install a more permanent position sooner.

Overview of responsibilities

This individual will report directly to the CEO of Beepods.  They will be the CEO’s eyes and ears in terms of helping to manage cashflow and reporting pertaining to special projects.  This person should have a good understanding of accounting basics and some experience with financial modeling.  

Initially responsible for maintaining the financial records of the company by accurately recording the day to day financial transactions of the company. Ability to support in general clerical and accounting in the organization as well.  See below responsibilities that will come after the basics have been executed consistently.

General Responsibilities

  • check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts
  • allocate and post financial transaction details to subsidiary books
  • transfer data to general ledger
  • reconcile and balance all accounts
  • draw up financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet)
  • collate and analyze account data and generate financial reports
  • track and maintain inventory records
  • maintain internal control systems
  • manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • prepare checks, payments and bank deposits
  • prepare and process payroll
  • comply with relevant reporting requirements
  • calculate and prepare tax payments
  • assist with budget preparation
  • assist with audits
  • maintain complete filing system to support financial records
  • Maintain contact with CEO on weekly basis to provide any other reporting, information or guidance.
  • Execute general accounts receivable and payable functions

Education and Experience

  • knowledge of bookkeeping practices
  • knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
  • knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
  • working knowledge of relevant computer applications; In this case Quickbooks, WooCommerce and Zoho CRM are software tools to focus in
  • knowledge of data management and financial data analysis
  • an associate degree in accounting, finance or business an advantage
  • bookkeeping certification
